General Assistant
Overview
We are looking for a reliable, energetic, and customer-focused General Assistant to join our catering team at a busy corporate client site. The successful candidate will support daily food service operations, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment while delivering excellent customer service.
Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts when required
- Reliable, punctual, and well-presented
- Previous experience in a catering, hospitality, corporate dining, or food service environment will be advantageous
Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation and serving of meals
- Set up and replenish food counters and beverage stations
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchens, dining areas, equipment, and workstations
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Receive, unpack, and store stock according to company procedures
- Assist with stock rotation and minimize wastage
- Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and health and safety standards
- Support catering functions, meetings, and special events as required
- Deliver professional and friendly customer service at all times
