Grain Stock and Procurement Controller
Overview
This role involves administering and controlling grain stock across third-party silos and storage facilities, ensuring accurate inventory records, reconciliations and reporting. The Stock and Procurement Controller also provides procurement and administrative support to the Grain Division while maintaining compliance with established procedures and supporting efficient operations through effective stakeholder coordination and communication.
Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12
- Qualification in Agriculture, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field (advantageous)
- Minimum 3 years' relevant stock experience
- Experience in reconciliations and financial administration
- Experience in inventory control and procurement administration
- Experience within the agricultural, grain, silo, commodity trading, or logistics industry
- Experience using SAP, AGRIS, Power BI, or related management systems (advantageous)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent administrative, organisational, and record-keeping skills
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and accountability
- Effective communication and stakeholder relationship management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid Driver’s License (Code 08)
- Willing to travel
Responsibilities
- Manage grain stock administration across third-party silos and storage facilities
- Compile and distribute daily stock and inventory reports
- Monitor stock balances and investigate variances and discrepancies
- Capture and maintain grain instructions, stock transfers, swaps, adjustments and related inventory transactions
- Administer instruction numbers and manage small stock balances
- Perform daily, weekly and month-end stock reconciliations
- Verify supplier invoices, storage charges and other stock-related costs
- Administer storage agreements, rates and related documentation
- Prepare operational, inventory and financial reports
- Perform administrative control checks and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation
- Provide procurement administration support for the Industries division
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding stock, inventory and operational matters
- Provide general administrative support to the Grain Division and related business activities
