Overview
Conduct production activities in line with the operational plans. Allocate task to labourers as per production sheet.
Requirements
- An ABET (NQF 3) or equivalent qualification
- No experience required
- All shortlisted candidates, including the SMS, shall undertake two pre-entry assessments
- One will be a practical exercise to determine a candidate’s suitability based on the post’s techn ical and generic requirements and the other must be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment
- Knowledge of propagation methods, record keeping, and Supervisory
- Sound organising and planning skills
- Knowledge of operating a computer
- Good communication (w ritten and verbal), interpersonal, problem solving and numerical skills
- Ability to work with difficult people
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work with limited supervision
Responsibilities
- Conduct production activities in line with the operational plans
- Allocate task to labourers as per production sheet
- Check seedlings and plants for pests and diseases
- Ensure harvesting activities
- Prepare fire breaks
- Oversee the maintenance of the plantation, and woodlots
- Weed control
- Watering and fertilising the plants
- Render general support functions
- Conduct stocktaking
- Provide training and development to staff
